Reflective Practice: The Schwartz Round

Schwartz Rounds are reflective practice rounds used in over 100 clinical institutions in the UK including hospitals, hospices and mental health trusts to explore emotions and feelings that healthcare professionals have around complex cases and the work we do. They provide a forum for building empathy and support for patients and colleagues. UCL Medical School is the first medical school outside of the United States to use dedicated Schwartz Rounds for clinical medical students. They have been running since 2014 at UCLMS. In the attached film made by final year medical students, thoughts about the Rounds are discussed by students and staff.
